Ghana May Issue Digital Currency in ‘Near Future,’ Says Central Bank Chief

The governor of the West African country’s central financial institution, Ernest Addison, stated Tuesday that Ghana may factor a virtual type of the country’s foreign money, the cedi, in the “near future” and is in talks to develop a pilot project in a “sandbox atmosphere.”
